Rowan’s Law – Concussion Safety Acknowledgement
Under Ontario law, Markdale Golf & Curling Club cannot register any athlete under 26 years of age, or allow any coach/official to serve, unless they confirm annually that they have reviewed Ontario’s Concussion Awareness Resources and the Club Concussion Code of Conduct.
Per national and provincial rules, our club also extends this safety review requirement to all adult curlers.
Step 1: Review the Government of Ontario Concussion Resources

Step 2: Review the Concussion Code of Conduct
Please review our Concussion Code of Conduct, found under the Our Club, Rowens Law tab.
Step 3: Mandatory Confirmation
Resource Confirmation: I/We confirm that the participant (and parent/guardian if the participant is under 18) has reviewed the age-appropriate Ontario Concussion Awareness Resource within the past 12 months.
Code of Conduct Agreement: I/We confirm that I/we have reviewed, understand, and agree to abide by the rules and behavior expectations outlined in the Club's Concussion Code of Conduct.
Removal/Return Protocol Awareness: I/We acknowledge that if a concussion is suspected during any curling activity, the participant will be immediately removed from the ice and cannot return until they provide a signed medical clearance note from a doctor or nurse practitioner
